Event Details

A tour of Abbot's Hospital looking at the recent restoration and improvements

This specially-devised tour of Abbot's Hospital examines details of the Grade I Listed building in the light of adaptations made to facilitate modern living. Founded in 1619 to provide accommodation for local older people, much of the building remains unaltered: yet significant changes have been incorporated to improve the quality of life for current residents and to ensure that Abbot’s is maintained for future generations. Join Bryan Yendole (local planner and previous Chair of Governors) and Tony Richmond (Master of the Hospital) on a walk through the restoration and improvement works carried out in recent years.
