Burtons' St Leonards Day

Event Details

Guided walks, talks and music in Regency St Leonards Gardens

To be opened by HRH Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, the direct descendant of Queen Victoria who stayed in St Leonards as Princess in 1834. The day will feature guided walks, illustrated talks, exhibitions and festivities. 'Planning the future while understanding the past' is the theme of the day: it will commemorate the original 1828 Regency resort town of James and Decimus Burton, whilst encouraging first rate infill development with imaginative architecture and landscape design. The South Lodge exhibition is open all year round on Wednesdays 11-2pm, Saturdays 11-4pm and Sundays 1-3pm.
